It’s just been one of those mornings. I flew through most of my commute, but the last eighth of a mile took 20 minutes. I got to work only to realize that I forgot my blackberry. My necklace just broke—there are beads everywhere.
Yesterday was the same way. After I got my eyebrows waxed I met Chaz at BestBuy. You know how Asians always walk with full ambition? Well, I evidently was walking to slow for one of them. I didn’t even realize he was behind me until he rammed his flat bed cart into my Achilles tendon going full speed ahead. My eyes immediately welled up with tears, my knees doubled and I ended up falling into the shelves. It still hurts to extend my foot.
I ran another errand after that. I had just parked my car when I saw an older woman carrying a large end table type thing. Instead of walking on the provided paths in the parking lot she decided to go in-between my huge SUV and the car beside me (there was at least 4 feet of room on the other side of my car) she smacked my car with her table while we were still sitting in it. Did she stop to apologize, or at least see if she scratched my car? Nope.
Later that evening I was at Chaz’s house watching TV (I’m addicted to The Wire). It was one of his roommate’s birthdays and he asked if he could take him to the metro. I said, well, it’s your birthday and all, I’ll just take you to the restaurant. Which was in Georgetown-- the complete opposite direction of my house. I was gathering my things and getting ready to leave—he didn’t get the hint. 10 minutes later I said “Are you ready?” He then ran down stairs only to come back up a few minutes later asking for five more. We finally left a half hour later. Who does that? When someone is going totally out of their way to give you a ride you don’t make them wait.
Argh.
On a lighter note, I made cupcakes this weekend using Magnolia Bakery’s recipe. They were delicious.

Yay, you are writing!
What is wrong with people? No manners, no awareness of others these days. I can't even get groceries without getting frustrated at society in general. People who just love to block aisles, standing around in the way like cows chewing cud. People who think it's acceptable to leave their buggy in the middle of the parking lot, when the buggy corral is not ten feet away. Heaven forbid they be INCONVENIENCED by having to walk their buggy over, when they can just leave it irresponsibly to slam into cars as we live in, yes, The Wind Tunnel. I am tired of having to be the socially responsible one here!!!!
Tirade over. At least until I can wrangle you down on Gmail . . .don't even get me started on the overwhelming Asian population here, and their social tendencies!
